Due to an incident with a vehicle entering the parcours, the peloton stopped after 12 km of racing. After some deliberation with the race organisers, it was decided to neutralise the Col des Brousses and its descent, to remove the last local lap in Bessèges (reducing the distance from 164.05 to 136.2 km) and to restart the race at km 22. Several teams, however, decided to not restart and left the race.
